About MOSA

Who We Are

Founded in 1884, MOSA (Medical Officers of Schools Association) was created to establish best practice in school healthcare and disease prevention. Today, we are the professional body for doctors, nurses, and other healthcare practitioners working in independent schools across the UK.

Our members share a commitment to child and adolescent health, safeguarding, and excellence in medical provision within education.

Our Mission

To advance the health and wellbeing of young people by equipping school healthcare professionals with knowledge, guidance, and a supportive community.

We do this by:

• Sharing up-to-date clinical and administrative best practice
• Hosting highly regarded Education Days and webinars
• Facilitating peer-to-peer networking and advice through the confidential MOSA Forum
• Advocating for high standards of care and collaboration across independent schools

What We Do

• Annual General Meeting: Held each January, this meeting gives members the opportunity to influence key Council decisions and help shape MOSA’s priorities for the year ahead.
• Spring and Summer Educational Meeting: A CPD-accredited event hosted by a member school, offering high-quality clinical education, practical insights, and networking in a collaborative, welcoming environment for healthcare professionals.
• Collaborative Learning: Meetings occasionally co-hosted with partner organisations.
• Online Confidential Clinical Forum: A valued benefit of membership — an active online discussion space where members seek advice, share experience, and explore diverse topics relevant to school healthcare.

MOSA Educational Days are renowned for their high-quality education, practical insights, and a welcoming atmosphere that encourages teamwork among doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals.
