Activities
Our
Annual Clinical Meeting, AGM and Annual Dinner is in January. It
alternates between a one-day event in London and a weekend at a
“non-London” venue, usually a school or University where accommodation
is provided at very reasonable rates.
Presentations, lectures and discussion groups on topics concerned with
medical care in schools are provided. Recent topics of discussion and
presentation include Cardiac screening in the young, Management of
sports’ injuries, Alcohol in adolescence, HPV infection and prevention
and Management of disabled pupils within a boarding school.
In recent years, venues for the Dinner have included Leeds Castle, the
House of Commons and the Guards and Cavalry Club. There is a full
programme for accompanying non-medical guests, often a guided visit to a
local place of interest.
We have a Summer Meeting in May, at a Member's school. It is a more
relaxed occasion, with educational events in the morning only. Guests
join delegates for lunch, and in the afternoon there is a visit to a
local place of interest or a presentation or discussion about a matter
of mutual interest. The Annual Summer Dinner follows in the evening and
tends to be less formal than the winter event. ^ Top of page
